The total number of coronavirus-stricken patients in Maldives who have observed full recoveries has crossed 9,000.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) reported 37 new cases of the virus as well as 87 recoveries, by 6pm, Tuesday.
With this development, the country’s Covid-19 tally has been pushed to 10,194 and the total number of recoveries to 9,037.
The 37 cases were from the 1,427 samples within the past 24 hours and includes 31 Maldivians and six foreigners.
34 cases were detected in the greater Malé region whereas three cases were confirmed from residential islands.
Maldives had 1,166 active cases of the virus on Monday, the number dropped by 50 on Tuesday, to 1,116.
556 patients are seeking treatment at isolation facilities, 56 patients less than the previous day.
Further, while 80 patients are currently hospitalized for treatment,
There are active cases in 23 residential islands and 23 resorts with the inclusion of 11 tourists and 20 resort workers. There is a total of 35 active Covid-19 cases in residential islands, including 29 Maldivians and six foreigners.
Monitoring measures are still effective in Hoandedhdhoo island of Gaad Dhaal atoll, where there are five active cases of the virus.
