Ooredoo Maldives has launched a destination marketing campaign across the Maldives.
In collaboration with Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Tourism Ministry, and Orca Media Group, the telecommunications provider launched ‘Visit Maldives Now’ to reach its international network across 117 million people in 10 countries globally.
Consumers of Ooredoo’s international network will get the opportunity to discover picturesque and mesmerizing content of the tropical paradise destination through Ooredoo’s media partners on social media platforms.
Ooredoo Maldives noted that the travelers who comment and share the social media posts stand a chance to win hotel stays and miscellaneous gifts.
The telecom giant’s Managing Director and CEO Najib Khan revealed that the country’s tourism sector has been hit hard by the impacts of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and that many families have been affected. The campaign, Najib said, will kickstart the country’s tourism at a fast pace and will proceed from September 2020 to the beginning of 2021.
Due to the ever-changing situation of the coronavirus pandemic, MMPRC has been adapting and conducting marketing activities through digital platforms to expand destination marketing.
Maldives reopened borders for international travel a little over three months since the borders were closed on March 27, on July 15.
