Maldives Covid-19 recoveries have surpassed 5,000.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Sunday reported the lowest number of Covid-19 infections in days, at 89.
As such, the new cases reported by 6pm Sunday include 63 Maldivians, 20 Bangladeshi nationals, five Indians and one national from Sri Lanka.
One of the 89 cases was reported from an outlying atoll.
With this, the country’s Covid-19 tally has been pushed to 7,667.
While the total number of recovered patients sat at 4,925 the previous day, the number rose to 5,036 by 6pm Sunday with 111 recoveries reported.
Out of the 2,597 active cases of the infection in the island nation, 181 Covid-19 patients are currently hospitalized for treatment.
1,486 cases are currently seeking treatment from isolation facilities across the nation.
While the country saw an increase in cases being reported since the authorities entered the third phase of lockdown easing in July which also saw the reopening of borders for international travel, Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in 31 residential islands and 15 resorts, with the inclusion of 15 tourists and 19 resort workers.
