The Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC)’s spokesperson, Dr. Nazla Rafeeq, has completed her home quarantine.
Nazla revealed this during Saturday night’s Covid-19 press briefing, where she has been participating virtually from home since going into quarantine, and added that her samples have been taken for testing before being officially released.
The doctor announced that she was required to home quarantine after being identified as a direct contact of a confirmed Covid-19 patient, on August 14.
Dr. Nazla was appointed as HEOC’s spokesperson on July 5, following the decision to cease operations of the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) and shift them to the Ministry of Health.
The senior medical officer at the Health Protection Agency (HPA) was part of the NEOC team as well, and has been on the frontlines of the Covid-19 response efforts since the beginning of the crisis.
