The government has extended the deadline for applications for the membership vacancy at the National Integrity Commission (NIC).
Making the announcement on Wednesday, the President’s Office revealed that this is in reference to the notice issued on August 11, where President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih sent the names of candidates who applied for approval from the People’s Majlis.
The new deadline to submit applications is 12:30 pm on September 3 and those interested have been sought to forward their submissions to the front desk of the President’s Office between September 1 – 3 from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
Application forms have been made available from the front desk of the office and also for download via the office’swebsite.
Earlier, the government accounted for applications for three vacancies at the commission after three of its members resigned.
In mid-July, the parliament passed to recommend the dismissal of the commission’s president, Ahmed Sulaiman.
Three of the members at the commission turned in their resignation following the parliament’s probe into the dismissal of four NIC members, they are; Vice President Hassaan Hameed and members Khadheeja Abdulla and Ahmed Ameen.
