Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) is to continue waste collection from the ground floor of residential buildings.
WAMCO brought changes to its waste collection procedures following the detection of a Covid-19 community spread in April.
While authorities began lockdown easing on May 29, WAMCO had announced the decision to continue this procedure until August 1.
WAMCO, on Saturday, announced the decision to extend its updated household waste collection guidelines until further notice and that its staff will only collect waste from the ground floor of residential buildings from August 2. The state-operated enterprise said the decision is based on the “developing nature of Covid-19”.
Further, WAMCO noted that its waste collection timings for household customers have not changed. This is to continue from 12pm to 2pm daily.
Employees on the frontlines of service provision for the people have tested positive for Covid-19 as well, including some workers at WAMCO.
