Arrangements have been made to conduct teleconsultations with India’s Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS).
Aasanadha Company and Hulhumalé Hospital reached the agreement with Amrita Hospital, given the current travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Noting that a number of people that require to travel abroad for medical services unavailable in the country are unable to do so due to the restrictions, Aasandha said that the purpose of the agreement with the Indian hospital is to assist these individuals by giving them an opportunity to seek medical counsel from specialists.
Hulhumalé Hospital will provide the required treatment under their guidance, and a special system has been established for this.
As such, the services will be available five days a week for medical care approved by Aasandha – pediatric services, cardiovascular diseases, oncology, surgery of neck and head, and urology. Despite the services being provided at the Hulhumalé, the Aasandha scheme will cover the costs as per the procedures in place.
The Aasandha Company also revealed plans to broaden these services to other hospitals as well as health centers in outlying atolls.
