These ICPs are tasked with assisting in the provision of basic necessities to households under quarantine or monitoring.
The city council is also working on a round-the-clock basis to distribute medical supply issued by the State Trading Organization (STO), under prescriptions for those seeking treatment for long-term or chronic illnesses.
Council employees are also stationed at ICPs near the north harbor and their responsibilities include assisting cargo boats in supplying goods that are required to be taken to and from outlying atolls.
In addition, Shamau revealed that several efforts are also underway aside from their efforts to assist authorities curb the spread of Covid-19 in the country. As such, the council regularly conducts mosquito fogging programmes early morning, as common colds and the flu are likely to spread these days due to the monsoon.
