The body of a man who went missing after diving for bait, has been found 50 metres under by rescue officers.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that the Maldivian man’s body was found by Coast Guard divers at around 11:30pm.

The man, one of the 25 crewmembers of “Asdhaan” fishing boat, is to have gone on a 30-minute dive for bait about 2.5 nautical miles from Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort in Gaafu Dhaalu atoll.

MNDF said that it received a missing persons report at around 8:12pm on Friday, adding that officers were dispatched to the area immediately including CG divers.

He is to have gone on the dive with four others.

RaajjeMV understands that the deceased is of 27 years of age.
