The country’s national airline, Maldivian has revealed that all domestic flight operations will resume once the government-imposed lockdown is lifted.
Following the extension of the lockdown period, which was initially announced on Wednesday, the airline took to Twitter, announcing that their domestic flights will remain suspended, in light of the ongoing Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) situation.
Further, the airline revealed that domestic operations will be resumed once the lockdown is lifted.
Maldivian has also made changes to the opening hours at their call center as well as the Viber services.
As such, the ticket office will be closed until further notice. This was put into effect from 5 April.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) earlier revealed that departure of vessels docked in Malé City has been prohibited following the 24-hour lockdown in the city.
A 24-hour lockdown was declared in the capital after a resident of the capital tested positive for Covid-19, despite zero connection to a confirmed case or travel history. The lockdown has since been extended for another 24 hours.
With the new cases discovered on Wednesday, the total number of confirmed cases in the country has risen to 23.
