Authorities have publicized a list of local shops and restaurants as well as cafés that have been permitted to make deliveries around the Greater Malé Region amid the lockdown.
The list was publicized by the traffic police on Thursday and includes a total of 32 establishments.
With the list having been publicized, the Maldives Police Service (MPS) has revealed that special permit stickers for delivery services will be issued starting from Friday morning.
As such, the stickers will be issued from 9am onward and the stations where they will be issued are;
- Malé Tow Yard: 9790121
- Police Station : 9790083
- Hulhumale’ Police Station: 4000007
Authorities have also announced the delivery hours for local shops and restaurants as well as cafés set during the 24-hour lockdown period announced on Wednesday.
Local shops and food outlets that have been permitted to deliver food and essentials to the people in the Greater Malé Region will be allowed to make delivery from 9am to 2pm, 3pm to 6pm and from 8pm to 11pm.
Authorities have been urging the public to refrain from visiting shops and to order essentials and food items through deliver.
As of Thursday, there have been 23 confirmed cases in the Maldives with the most recent three cases being discovered in the capital city on Wednesday. Since then, a lockdown has been declared for a 24-hour period. It was however, extended on Thursday afternoon and is set to expire on Friday afternoon.
