The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed that samples taken from individuals in three resorts have tested negative to the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).

The reveal was made via Twitter on Monday night.

These resorts are Sandies Bathala, Anantara Dhigu and Club Med Kanifinolhu.

Since then, monitoring measures imposed on all three islands have been lifted.

Thus far, 13 individuals have tested positive to the fatal virus in the Maldives, all foreigners and from resorts. Five cases were from Kuredu Island Resort and two each from Sandies Bathala, Anantara Dhigu, Kuramathi and a safari boat, Island Safari 1.

Five out of the 13 have recovered and eight are currently receiving treatment. However, the recovered patients are required to undergo a 30-day isolation period to ensure they do not test positive again.

There are 496 individuals quarantined at facilities currently, and 22 in isolation.
