Maldives government has lifted the temporary restrictive measures imposed on Kuredu Island Resort, Sandies Bathala and Kuramathi Maldives.
The measures were imposed temporarily under article 12 of the Public Health Act for the prevention and control of Covid-19.
Lifted measures are effective from 4pm for Kuredu and 7pm for Bathala and Kuramathi, reveals a statement issued by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
The statement goes on to reads that the managements of the resorts are required to maintain the cordoned areas where individuals deemed high-risk are to remain isolated for the duration set by authorities.
With the decision, managements are also required to separate individuals at low-risk from the high-risk ones.
Further, the managements of all three resort are also to monitor and ensure individual adherence to the prevention and control procedures for the fatal infection.
All individuals are to undergo exit screening prior to being exited from the island, revealed the HPA.
Public health professional are also required to be present at the resorts in order to implement infection prevention as well as control measures.
On Wednesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Covid-19 a pandemic, being the first to be caused by a Coronavirus.
A pandemic is described by the WHO as the worldwide spread of a new disease.
