An accident has occurred in capital city Malé’s suburban extension Hulhumalé after a motorcycle crashed into an oil bowser.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the accident occurred at around 10:20am on Saturday morning.

The 26-year-old Maldivian woman riding the motorcycle had attained several injuries, and was rushed to Hulhumalé Hospital immediately for treatment.

However, her condition was reported stable, as she did not acquire any serious injuries.

Further, police revealed that both the woman and the 26-year-old Bangladeshi man who was driving the oil bowser were licensed to operate vehicles.

The accident occurred while the oil bowser was making a turn where the highway ends towards Hulhumalé and the motorcycle crashed into it after the rider lost control.

The case is under further investigations by the police.
