Ex-MP Nizar submits candidacy for MDP primaries' mayoral election
 
Nizar lost his bid for re-election in MDP’s primaries for the parliamentary elections held during 2019

Former parliamentarian for south-Hithadhoo constituency, Ali Nizar has submitted his candidacy for the Addu City mayoral election in main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s primaries.

Nizar made the reveal on Twitter, posting a photo of his submission at the main ruling party’s secretariat on Thursday.

The Tweet further reveals that his candidate number is two.

Earlier, the ex-MP during the 18th tenure of parliament highlighted that he will not leave behind any citizen and that he hopes to work alongside residents from all communities for progress.

Adding that there is a lot of work to be done for Addu’s development Nizar stated that progress will be reached through the joint effort from the people.

Nizar lost his bid for re-election in MDP’s primaries for the parliamentary elections held during 2019.

MDP will be accepting applications from contestants before 6pm on Friday.

While the Local Council Election 2020 is slated for 4 April, campaigns have been launched nationwide.
