Discussions have been held on ways to further enhance the bilateral cooperation Maldives has with Australia and the United States of America.

Ahmed Khaleel, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs on Monday met with foreign officials including Australian Ambassador to the Maldives, David Holly where discussions touched on ways through which both countries may expand cooperation in several areas.

Later in the day, the state minister met with Alaina Teplitz, the Ambassador of United States to the Maldives.

During the meeting with Teplitz, discussions focused on enhancing the determined cooperation between the United States and the Maldives.

Ties between Maldives and several bilateral partners are observably flourishing since the new administration took over in November 2018. As such, government officials are seen paying frequent visits abroad in the government's work to enhance bilateral trade and relations that was weakened during the previous tenure of ex-President Abdulla Yameen.
