The Minister of Fisheries Marine Resources and Agriculture, Zaha Waheed, has been questioned by the Maldives Police Service (MPS) in connection to the MMPRC graft.
In a statement to RaajjeMV, The minister revealed that she was brought in for questioning on Thursday night. She further stated that she gave the authorities her full co-operation and support in their line of questioning.
The authorities are currently summoning several individuals concerning the MMPRC graft, however, the names of these individuals are yet to be officially disclosed.
No further information has been disclosed by the authorities on the matter.
MP for Th. Guraidhoo, Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, has also been summoned for questioning by the authorities last month.
Zaha is one of three ministers in the current administration facing allegations of involvement in the MMPRC graft alongside the Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof and the Minister of Communication, Science and Technology, Mohamed Maleeh Jamal.
Authorities recently previously disclosed that 44 members of the 18th parliament and 16 members of the incumbent one are being investigated in connection to the MMPRC graft, in addition to senior government officials and judges.
