Civil Service Commission (CSC) has stated that it will be taking action on Islamic Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Mus’ab Abdulla this week.

CSC Secretary General Ibrahim Zuhuree told RaajjeMV that Mus’ab has been suspended five times over an administrative issue, but he did not disclose any details.

Mus’ab told RaajjeMV that he was suspended as reprisal for nullifying the agreement between the government and SG Construction to develop a mosque, after receiving the go-ahead from the attorney general.

Mus’ab was first suspended on May 29 and had filed a complaint over his suspension at the parliament and Anti-Corruption Commission. He said that he has not received a response and that he was informed that he is being investigated over a complaint filed by SG Construction’s Director.

SG Construction was tasked with developing a 10-floor building on the land that held Zikra Mosque for MVR 130 million. The previous government had given the company MVR 30 million but the agreement was nullified after the project stalled.
