With the decentralization of the government, Maldivian women will be empowered with a more significant role in the society, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.
He said this while speaking at the closing ceremony of the 21st National Patrol Leaders Training Camp held in Maafushi, Kaafu atoll on Thursday.
The training camp was an initiative of the Maldives Girl Guide Association.

Highlighting the importance of the role women play in the society, VP Naseem noted that women must not hesitate to “take up half” of the responsibilities and duties that follows strengthening the nation.
VP Naseem went on to state that while there are over 10 million girl guides in 146 countries across the globe, Maldives has over 9,000 members in the association.
Further, the Vice President stated that young women must learn practical skills and techniques that will empower them to thrive, as adults and offered the advice to always seek ways to carry out all their attempts in kindness and empathy.
