Registration opens for Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2019

Registration has been opened for ‘Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2019’.
Dhiraagu said that registration was opened on Saturday, and the race is to be held in Hulhumale' on September 20.
Noting that a registration fee or “donation” is required, Dhiraagu said that this can only be paid through online registration. It added that this can be paid through Dhiraagu Pay or BML Gateway.
While there is registration fee of MVR 100, participants can donate any amount they want; every year, the annual race is dedicated to a social cause.
Participants can also choose their bib numbers during the registration process; however this will increase the fee to MVR 500.
Other new features that are to be introduced include, holding the 10k and 5k races at different times. As such, the 10k race is to start at 6am while the 5k race will be held at 4:30pm.
The first 1,000 to sign up through Dhiraagu Pay “will receive a 50% discount.”
Dhiraagu had gifted MVR 600,000 to 10 non-governmental organizations in 2018, which is 100 percent of it earnings at last year’s race; the telecommunications company added MVR 200,000 to the top five NGOs selected by the runners.
