Ex-VP Adeeb's former bodyguards transferred to house arrest
The transfer is temporary
They were both charged with terrorism and sentenced to a total of 10 years

Former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb’s former body guards Ahmed Amir and Ahmed Rikaaz have been transferred to house arrest on Tuesday.

RaajjeMV understands that the transfer is temporary and comes under the powers granted to the Minister of Home Affairs.

Both Rikaaz and Amir were arrested under allegations of aiding the former President plant an explosive on the Presidential speedboat.

They were both charged with terrorism and sentenced to a total of 10 years.

RaajjeMV was unable to get a word from the Maldives Correctional Service at the time of publishing as they had failed to answer the station’s calls.
