Maldives telecommunications giant Dhiraagu has launched its high-speed fiber broadband services along with the first and only Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service to be established in the Maldives, Dhiraagu TV in Thulhaadhoo island of Baa atoll.

Thulhaadhoo is the third island in Baa atoll in which the services have been established, with Dharavandhoo being the first in the atoll to receive fiber broadband services, Eydhafushi being the second.

While fiber broadband is the latest technology used to provide broadband services across the nation, Dhiraagu fiber broadband service remains the fastest provider in the Maldives at a speed of 100mbps and their biggest allowance is a package of 1tb. Dhiraagu has thus far provided "Fiber to the home" services to capital city Male', Villimale', Hulhumale' and 39 other islands, and ADSL services to all islands with a large population.

With the establishment of the service in Thulhaadhoo island, homes will receive its complete services.

Dhiraagu has begun a fixed broadband promotion for November which provides free installation of fiber connection and a 25% discount from monthly fees for fiber broadband connections, valid up to three months.

The introductory package of Dhiraagu TV service includes over 80 channels ranging from Disney, news, sports as well as entertainment packs.
