Will keenly listen to the people, says Minister Mahloof

While the new cabinet of Minister of the new government of Maldives newly-elected President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih took their oath of office on Saturday, former Member of Parliament for South-Galolhu constituency and recently sworn in Minister of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof has stated that he did not take oath just to sit in the cabinet wearing ‘a tie’.

Mahloof stated this on a tweet he sent out on Sunday morning.

Minister Mahloof wrote that he desires to bring a significant change to the sports sector and that he hopes to bring about good results under President Solih’s instructions.

Mahloof also wrote that he will graciously accept criticism as well as the people’s opinions and thoughts.

Having been active in the sports sector before his career in politics, Mahloof previously held the post of Manager of the Maldives national football team as well.

Mahloof and 18 other Ministers of President Solih’s cabinet had taken their oath of office at a special ceremony held at the President’s Office on Saturday.
