Local telecommunications giant Dhiraagu has announced that they will be holding their Special Sports Festival on the 29th of October.
Dhiraagu at a press conference held earlier this week, announced that they will be specializing this festival especially for persons with disabilities.
According to Dhiraagu, the festival, to be held in Henveiru Stadium is to kick off at 1600 hrs and will proceed till 1800 hrs on the 29th of October, a Monday.
Dhiraagu had in the conference highlighted that the motive behind hosting the festival is to ensure persons with disabilities meet on the same platform and get to enjoy, as well as to help boost their self-confidence.
Moreover, the telecom giant said that four Non-Governmental Organizations and 11 schools will join this year’s festival which will feature tournaments such as baton races and running. A total of 390 individuals will be joining in this year’s sports festival, Dhiraagu revealed.
While medals will be awarded to those who win the different types of games, all persons with disabilities will have the honor of participating in the event.
The telecom giant has been holding this festival annually since its inauguration in 2011.
