Two men, one local and one expatriate, who were hospitalized following a road collision that occurred at sundown on Friday, have been released after treatment.
Speaking to RaajjeMV, ADK Hospital’s Managing Director, Ahmed Affaal revealed that they had released the two injured in the accident after treatment and that neither had attained serious injuries.
Media official at the Maldives Police Service (MPS) said that the accident had occurred at sundown on Friday, at around 1825 hrs when a speeding motorcycle hit a pedestrian of Bangladeshi nationality. The rider had evidently lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the pedestrian, causing injuries to both, with one having lost consciousness. They were rushed to the hospital immediately.
RaajjeMV understands that the rider had smashed his head in the collision and had lost consciousness. A witness had reported that a few atop parked motorcycles had also been minorly injured in the collision.
The accident occurred in front of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s main office on Sosun Magu.
While this is the second such accident to be reported in the past two days, a serious accident on the Sinamale Bridge had left three severely injured on Thursday night.
