President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has returned after an unofficial trip abroad.
Upon his return on Wednesday, he met with Alice Wells, the United States' Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs.
The two held their meeting at the VVIP lounge of the Velana International Airport.
Details of the discussion has not yet been disclosed.
This was Solih’s first trip abroad since winning September's presidential election, while Ambassador Wells is on a one-day visit to the Maldives. She departed to Sri Lanka on Wednesday evening.
