Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) will be revealing their manifesto at Monday’s campaign event, President Abdulla Yameen has revealed.

Speaking at a campaign event in Fuvahmulah on Friday night, President Yameen said that it took more than six months to draft their manifesto.

The President said that they only included realistic goals for ‘important fields’ that would be beneficial and accepted by the citizens.

The opposition has been criticizing the ruling party for failing to disclose their manifesto so close to election day. Responding to the criticisms earlier, President Yameen said that their manifesto was ‘a surprise’ and that it would be publicized right after Eid al-Fitr at the Sinamale’ bridge inauguration ceremony.

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has publicized their manifesto 85 days before election day. President Yameen criticized their manifesto as being not very well-researched.
