Joint Opposition’s presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will receive the most votes from ADh. Maamigili, says Qasim Ibrahim, the leader of Jumhooree Party (JP) and the constituency’s representative.
Speaking at a campaign event in the island on Thursday night via video conference, Qasim urged Maldivian to vote for the opposition candidate to escape tyranny and corruption.
Highlighting the incidences of corruption in President Abdulla Yameen’s administration, Qasim said that even the President has admitted that the government development projects are being conducted in a way that makes way for corruption.
Qasim, who chaired the committee that drafted the new constitution, said that the cases of government corruption are not being properly investigated.
He added that developing the country is not something that a nation’s leader does out of his own good will.
