The suspect in the murder of a teenager Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has turned himself in after the police began a manhunt.
Police began searching for the suspect after 18-year-old Ibrahim Agil died after being stabbed with a knife on August 31.
Speaking to RaajjeMV on the night of the assault, Managing Director at ADK Hospital, Ahmed Affaal said that Aagil was ‘most probably dead’ when he had been brought in at around 07:30 p.m. that night, but that the doctors had tried to revive him.
Witnesses at the scene said that the assault occurred at 7:15pm and that the assailant approached Aagil from the front and stabbed him in the center of the neck. He then fell to the ground and began thrashing around while struggling to breathe.
Following the spike in assault and gang violence in Male’, the police service stated that they have launched an operation to find and prosecute those encouraging such criminal behavior.
