Re-registration voters' list to be released on Sunday

Window for re-registration will also be opened during this period

Elections Commission is to publish the re-registration voters' list on Sunday.

After releasing the list, the Commission will give a three-day window to lodge complaints, from August 27.

The commission on Saturday released the final ballot box locations, revealing decision to not places boxes in 13 locations including Singapore and New Delhi, India. It said that these locations, including two industrial islands and nine resorts, did not the required number of re-registered voters.

Elections Commission previously announced about 5,000 re-registration forms submitted at the commission to be invalid, having informed said individuals of the cancellation of their re-registration forms.

While there are 262,141 eligible voters for the presidential elections slated for September 23, EC plans to place a total of 491 ballot boxes, both in Maldives and abroad.
