Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has awarded 17 companies with the “Ran Laari Award” (Golden Coin Award) for making their tax payments on a regular basis.
The tax administrator had conferred these awards to the regular tax payers at a ceremony held on Friday night to mark the authority’s 08th Anniversary since establishment in 2010.
Out of the awarded companies, the ones that paid the most BPT are Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA), telecommunications giant Ooredoo Maldives along with Maldives In-flight Catering Limited as well as 5-star Maldives resorts Cheval Blanc Randheli, Four Seasons Maldives Landaa Giraavaru. Some of the travel agencies included in said list are Hulhule Island Hotel (HIH), Ocean Grand as well as Crown Tours Private Limited and a safari of Four Seasons Explorer.
Furthermore, companies Copier Plus Private Limited and DBlue Marine as well as national Bank, Bank of Maldives (BML) along with telecommunications giant Dhiraagu were also conferred the “Ran Laari Award” at Friday night’s ceremony.
While MIRA has celebrated their regular tax payers, they had also awarded large and small enterprises along with state companies who made regular payments for bank profit taxes and withholding taxes.
