The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has said that they will hold an Independence Day parade in capital city Malé on Saturday.

The parade will start off at the Bandaara Koshi, the MNDF headquarters, and around the capital until the Republic Square and down Chaandhanee Magu, Orchid Magu, and Sosun Magu.

The parade, which is held annually, will set off at 16:00 on Saturday. Traffic in the capital are to be controlled and the MNDF has released a map of the parade route.

Several officers will take part in the parade, the MNDF said.
