Maldives Police Service (MPS) has said that they have yet to make any arrests in connection to Friday night's stabbing in Hulhumalé.

While the police media officer said that they are investigating the attack, he did not disclose any further information.

Ashiya Solih, media coordinator at the Aasandha Company that runs Hulhumalé Hospital, had confirmed that a 24-year-old man was brought in at around 9:30pm on Friday with seven stab wounds.

She added that the young man was 'recovering'.

There was a similar attack in the capital city's suburban district on Thursday as well.
