Monday’s parliament sitting has been cancelled.
Concluding last Tuesday’s sitting speaker Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed had announced that the next sitting will be held at 11am on Monday.
While the European Union is expected to take restrictive measures against Maldivian government officials on Monday, the parliament sitting is not the only scheduled event to have been cancelled today.
President Abdulla Yameen has also postponed his trip to northernmost Thiladhunmathi atoll citing adverse weather conditions.
