Memorandum of Understanding signed between Maldives Police Service and Ministry of Health
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Maldives Police Service (MPS) and the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure to further advance security in the capital city Male’ by installing CCTV cameras in some areas of the city.
In the signing ceremony held at the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure on Thursday, Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu signed on behalf of the Ministry and Acting Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz signed for MPS.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Muizzu said that the MoU was signed to establish better security in Sinamale’, Male’ Hiyaa and Villimale regions by installing CCTV cameras in the areas following which security will be ensured to citizens residing in those areas.
Police Commissioner Nawaz said that the security cameras to be installed will be assessed by the Police Command Center, which ensures safety of citizens in the areas will be maintained.
Moreover, Nawaz added that police special constabulary services will be established to further guarantee the safety in the regions.
