Former Auditor General Ibrahim Niyaz has said that Kendhoo MP Ali Hussain is the most capable of handling the responsibilities of a vice president.
Niyaz praised MP Hussain in a tweet on Monday.
In the tweet, Niyaz said that MP Hussain is a close friend whom he has known since their school days.
Niyaz said and that he is well-mannered and disciplined and expressed confidence that Hussain would be able to handle the responsibilities of a vice president.

The opposition coalition parties have agreed to back a member of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) as their common presidential candidate and a member of Jumhooree Party (JP) as the running mate.
MDP has elected Hinnavaru MP Ibrahim Mohamed Solih as their presidential candidate and MP Hussain has been getting public support to be nominated as JP’s running mate.
Those vying for the position of JP’s running mate are MP Hussain, Kaashidhoo MP Faisal Naseem, former minister and JP’s deputy leader Abdulla Mausoom, former state minister Abdulla Ameen, and former state minister Mohamed Fayaz.
Ali Waheed, the recently appointed President of JP, has expressed his support for Aishath Nahula, JP council member and the youngest wife of party leader Qasim Ibrahim.
Acting JP leader Dr. Hussain Rasheed has said that they will choose a running mate soon.
