Jumhooree Party has filed in Supreme Court, asking for the Court to take action on Attorney General Mohamed Anil.
A letter was sent to Supreme Court, in the early hours of Friday, addressed to Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed, signed by JP Secretary General Ahmed Sameer.
The letter stated that Attorney General had obstructed implementing the Court ruling, mandating release of nine political arrestees. Additionally, the letter also stated that the Attorney General had had in the press conference said they were reviewing the Supreme Court ruling prior to implementing it.
Anil, in the press conference, also said the Office will take any action on the verdict after discussions with Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court ruling had ordered the release of the party’s leader Qasim Ibrahim, who had applauded the verdict.
