Two-day official state visit
President and First Lady officially welcomed their Malaysian guests
President Abdullah Yameen and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim have officially welcomed Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak and First Lady, Madam Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor to the Maldives.
The Malaysian PM and his wife arrived in the Maldives on Tuesday evening.
They were officially welcomed to the Maldives on Wednesday morning in Republic Square. At the welcoming ceremony, they observed a cultural item by students, a seven-gun salute and an honor guard by officers of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).
The Malaysian Prime Minister was introduced to Cabinet Ministers.
This is the first time Prime Minister Najib Razak visited the Maldives. In the two-day state visit, the two nations are expected to sign several agreements and hold official talks.
