Hulhudheli Council President: Recruitment for jobs ahead of elections was done without restraint

The President of the Dhaalu Hulhudheli Island Council, Ahmed Nasru, has stated that recruitment for government positions during election periods has been conducted without any oversight, noting that some employees are even forced to spend their working hours on traditional joali seats due to a lack of proper facilities.

Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fashaairu" program, the island’s Council President stated that while the general situation on the island remains stable, residents have raised significant concerns regarding the rising cost of living and increasing financial constraints.

He stated that since concerns were raised regarding the stagnation of various projects, some work has gradually begun to resume. However, he noted that there are still significant concerns as the progress remains insufficiently slow.

Nasru further stated that recruitment during election periods was carried out without any oversight, resulting in some employees having to spend their time idle on traditional joali seats. He also noted that there was no one available to assign tasks or provide direction to these staff members.

The Council President highlighted that the slow progress of ongoing development projects in the island remains a primary concern for the local community.

Furthermore, Nasru addressed the hardships faced by the public due to the country's current economic situation. He highlighted that the rising cost of living and financial constraints have become significant challenges in the daily lives of citizens.

Despite these challenges, the President of the Hulhudheli Council stated that residents remain hopeful for improvements and expect projects to proceed at a steady pace.
