Ihusan stated that the living conditions of families across the islands have severely deteriorated as the government continues to terminate employees under various pretexts. He further noted that with the rising cost of goods and the stagnation of the fishing industry and small businesses, citizens are now forced into a desperate struggle for basic survival.

Former Deputy Minister of Education Mohamed Ihusan has stated that families living in rural islands lack the necessary means to sustain their livelihoods. He noted that rather than seeking additional income, these families are currently struggling merely to secure their basic daily needs for food and water.

Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Vaudhunaama" program, Ihusan stated that the country has never seen an administration that has marginalized its citizens to such an extent. Expressing concern over the dismissal of employees under various pretexts, he noted that the current government is disenfranchising the public without any hesitation.

Ihusan also stated that 17 employees working at the Fenaka branch in Naalaafushi have been dismissed from their positions.

Approximately 17 employees working at Fenaka Corporation in Naalaafushi have been dismissed. Each of these individuals represents a household in a community with a resident population of only about 300 people. If each employee supports a family of four or five, this move impacts nearly half of the island's population. Consequently, these families are now in a state of survival, struggling to find a way to sustain their livelihoods.

Furthermore, Ihusan highlighted that fishing activities and small businesses have come to a standstill. He noted that living standards have declined to the point where citizens are no longer able to sustain their livelihoods, adding that there is deep public concern over the rising cost of living.
