The Vice President of the M. Naalaafushi Island Council, Ibrahim Zuhaid, has stated that construction of the local police station has slowed to a crawl due to a lack of remaining tasks to be completed at the site.
In an interview with RaajjeTV, Zuhaid stated that the police station construction project is one of the few initiatives currently progressing in Naalaafushi. He further noted that work is also underway on two additional projects in the island.
Zuhaid noted that progress is being made on the construction of the extension to the Naalaafushi Health Centre, as well as the development of the new Naalaafushi Council office building.
Zuhaid stated that the police building project is currently experiencing a slight delay.
According to the information I have received, the project has experienced a slight delay due to difficulties the contractors faced in procuring materials. However, a shipment of roofing supplies arrived from Malé on a boat today. I believe the initial focus of the work here will now proceed with the roofing installation.Ibrahim Zuhaid
Furthermore, Zuhaid stated that this project was initiated by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during his visit to M. Naalaafushi in 2025.
