Sobe Secures Lead in North Hithadhoo By-Election Preliminary Results
Voting for the North Hithadhoo constituency by-election took place from Saturday morning through the afternoon, with seven polling stations established across Hithadhoo and Malé to accommodate 4,121 eligible voters. The Elections Commission has since concluded the voting process and commenced the announcement of preliminary results.

Abdullah Sodiq (Sobe), the candidate from the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), has secured the lead in the preliminary results of the parliamentary by-election for the vacant North Hithadhoo constituency.
Polling for the election commenced at 8:00 AM on Saturday. Voting continued throughout the day until the polls closed at 5:00 PM this evening.
A total of seven ballot boxes have been set up for this election. These include five boxes stationed in Hithadhoo, Addu City, and two boxes placed in Malé specifically for residents of the constituency living in the capital. The ballot boxes in Hithadhoo are located at Hithadhoo School.
Voting in Male' is currently underway at Dharumavantha School. According to statistics released by the Elections Commission, a total of 4,121 individuals are eligible to vote in this by-election.
