No arrests made following serious highway accident; investigation underway

Police have stated that no arrests have been made yet in connection with the serious accident that occurred on the Hulhumale’ Highway late Monday night.
The accident occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Monday night when a speeding car rear-ended another vehicle parked in the highway’s car lane. The impact caused the vehicle to collide with four motorcycles traveling in the vicinity.
When questioned regarding the incident, police stated that it is currently unclear whose negligence led to the occurrence. Authorities further noted that the matter is under ongoing investigation.
