Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the Maldives on Friday morning, for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi is expected to hold high-level talks with senior officials of the Maldivian government, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring areas of mutual cooperation.
An official welcome ceremony for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take place on Friday evening at Republic Square in the capital Malé City, marking a key highlight of his two-day visit to the Maldives. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 4pm.
Later in the evening, at 5:30pm, both leaders will take part in the signing of bilateral agreements, followed by the symbolic inauguration of several joint development projects. A press statement will be issued afterwards, outlining the outcomes of the discussions and agreements.
To conclude the day's events, an official state dinner will be hosted in honor of Prime Minister Modi on Friday night.
This marks Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to the Maldives since President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu took office.
