All Maldivian Hajj pilgrims have arrived at the plains of Arafat.

The pilgrims began their journey to Arafat some time after sundown on Wednesday. According to the Hajj Mission, by 3:30am (Mecca time), all Maldivian pilgrims had reached their tents in Arafat.

The Hajj Mission stated that the overall condition of the Maldivian pilgrims is good, and that the pilgrims will spend the day in the tents set up in Arafat.

Staying in Arafat from the afternoon of the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah is the most important pillar of Hajj. Those who do not reach this plain before sunset on that day will not have completed their Hajj.

After going to Arafat, the pilgrims will spend the night in Muzdalifah. After spending the night in Muzdalifah, they will proceed to gather stones for Rami al-Jamarat, followed by the sacrificing of animals. Then, after spending the night in Mina and stoning the three Jamarat, the pilgrims will perform Tawaf al-Ifadah and Sa'i between Safa and Marwa. As their final act, they will perform the Farewell Tawaf, completing their Hajj rituals.

This year, 1,000 pilgrims from the Maldives have travelled to perform the noble pilgrimage of Hajj.

All pilgrims have gone under the care of the Maldives Hajj Corporation.
