The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has stated that a post-mortem has been conducted on the body that was found inside a house in the congested capital, Malé City.

A man was discovered dead inside a house in Malé on January 7.

The deceased person was identified as Hussain Ahmed, 41, of M. Tharivilaa.

He was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) after being discovered on the morning of January 7.

The same day, the police institution announced that they would conduct an autopsy on the body.

After the autopsy, his body was brought back to Malé and buried on Saturday.

His post-mortem was conducted in neighboring India.

Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
