The People's Majlis has approved the reappointment of three senior staff members of the secretariat.

The parliament approved the reappointment of Counsel General Fathimath Filza, Secretary General Fathimath Niusha and Sergeant at Arms Major (Rtd) Thalhath Hassan.

As per the parliament's regulations, a proposal was submitted to decide on the continuation of the individuals holding the positions of Secretary General, Counsel General, and Sergeant at Arms.

The vote held during Monday’s sitting saw 79 lawmakers voting to retain Niusha as the Secretary General.

80 lawmakers voted to retain Counsel General Filza and Thalhath in their respective positions.

According to the parliament's regulations, before the completion of two terms after the implementation of the regulations, unless otherwise decided by the parliament, individuals must be appointed to the positions of Secretary General, Counsel General, and Sergeant at Arms of the ongoing parliament assembly.

With Monday’s vote, the three individuals will continue in their positions for the upcoming term as well.
