Carrom World Championship
National Carrom Team that competed in Carrom World Championship receives warm welcome
Both teams won bronze medals in the team event of the tournament. Both teams reached the semi-finals of the team event, where they were defeated by Sri Lanka.

The Maldives National Carrom Team received a warm welcome upon their return home after competing in this year’s Carrom World Championship.

Both the men's and women's teams from the Maldives competed in the tournament held in California, U.S.

The Maldivian national men's team that competed in the Carrom World Championship consisted of Hassan Nazim, Ibrahim Hujan Ali, Ismail Azmeen, and Mohamed Munthasir.

The Maldivian national women's team included Aminath Vidhaadh, Aishath Naufa, Aishath Fainaaz, and Fathimath Rayana.

Both teams won bronze medals in the team event of the tournament. Both teams reached the semi-finals of the team event, where they were defeated by Sri Lanka. In the third-place match, the women's team defeated the host country, the United States. The men's team defeated Singapore in their third-place match. This is the first time the Maldives National Men's Team has won a medal in the World Cup.

Upon their return home, the National Carrom Team received a warm welcome at Velana International Airport (VIA) by the Commissioner of Sports, Mohamed Tholal, and the President of the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC), Mohamed Abdul Sattar. State Ministers from the Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation also participated in welcoming the team. The Maldives achieved good results in the Asian Carrom Championship held in the Maldives this year. In the doubles event, Azmeen and Nazim won silver. In the team event, the Maldives men's team won silver and the women’s team won bronze. Maldivian players also competed in the quarter-finals of the singles event in the tournament.
