Maldives has won their second match in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women's Volleyball Challenge cup.
The island nation was off to a good start in the CAVA Women's Volleyball Challenge cup, after an effortless victory against Afghanistan in straight sets in the first match.
On Saturday, Maldives went head-to-head with Tajikistan at the indoor hall of the youth center.
Maldives won the match by three sets to one.
Maldives won the first two sets of the match with a score of 25-18 in the first set and 25-12 in the second set.
Tajikistan stepped up its game and managed to win the third set after a competitive game. They won the third set 21-25.
However, Maldives won the fourth set as well, with a score of 25-16, securing victory in the match.
In the first match played on Friday evening Afghanistan barely managed to put up a fight against Maldives, only in the first set.
The very close first set was won by Maldives 25-19. In the second and third sets, Maldives stepped up its game and won the second set 25-12, the third set 25-11.
Tajikistan lost straight sets by Kyrgyzstan in the tournament's first match on Friday evening.
The tournament is proceeding from September 6 – 11.
Teams from Maldives, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan are competing.
The final will be played between the winner of the match between the top team and the fourth-placed team from the league round, and the winner of the match between the second and third-placed teams.
In the preliminary round of the four-team tournament, Maldives will face Kyrgyzstan in their final match on Sunday night.
