A man has been arrested in connection with accusations of theft from the Drug Court.

Arrested in connection with the case is Mohamed Aslam, 32, native to Hithadhoo district of southernmost Addu City.

Responding to a question by RaajjeMV, Maldives Police Service (MPS) confirmed his arrest and revealed that he has been remanded for a 15-day period, upon being presented to the court for his remand hearing.

The arrest was made on August 30 and the suspect has a history of similar offences.

As such, the police institution revealed that he has a recurring record of stealing from several offices and court buildings.

Aslam is accused of breaking a small window to gain entry into the Drug Court's courtroom and stealing money.
